Isabel McDevitt

Isabel McDevitt is a social entrepreneur who has developed, launched, and operated five successful social ventures. She is an expert in community and government relations; as well as property acquisition and development. After 20+ years of experience focusing solely on integrating business practices into solutions to homelessness across the country, Isabel has extensive credibility and connections when it comes to the issue of homelessness and solutions to homelessness in the United States. Isabel currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Bridge House – a Colorado-based non profit organization dedicated addressing homelessness. Since joining Bridge House in March of 2012, Isabel founded the Ready to Work program which
breaks expensive cycles of homelessness, joblessness and incarceration through employment and housing. Isabel founded and manages two social enterprises including Community Table Kitchen and the Ready to Work outdoor crew. Isabel also oversees Bridge House’s basic needs programming called Path to Home which provides shelter and case management to over 100 unique homeless individuals each month. For 10 years, Isabel was a part of the senior leadership team for business development, government relations, and community engagement strategies at The Doe Fund, a transitional employment and housing organization serving homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals in New York City. At The Doe Fund, Isabel founded two ventures creating jobs in the fields of pest management and biodiesel conversion and ran several other social
enterprises employing over 400 formerly homeless and jobless people. Since relocating to Boulder, Colorado in 2006, Isabel has served on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Wilderness Institute, as a partner with Social Ventures Partners of Boulder County, and as a chair of the Coordinating Committee of the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative, and is a member of Boulder County’s Homeless Solutions Board. In 2017, she was accepted as a Livingston Fellow with the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. Isabel graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Sociology.
